Pheasants Flourish at Tapuae

28/03/2011 – Pheasants Flourish at Tapuae

Dear Friends of Tapuae,

More than 150 pheasants have found a safe haven home at Tapuae Country Estate.

The birds were recently released by property owners / developers John and Mary Washer and are thriving in the natural wildlife habitat and extensive native plantings within the private Estate.

The pheasants were bought at one day old and reared by John until they were 14 weeks of age then released into the Tapuae sanctuary that is now their home. They are often seen roaming the native bush walkways, around the lakes and waterways and across pastures.

The pheasants co-habitat alongside Guinea Fowl and an array of other rare and exotic birds such as Wood Pigeon, Tui’s and Teal Ducks. An active programme is also in place to eradicate unwanted pests and predators providing ultimate protection for the rare birds.

The pheasants and birdlife are another added attraction within the exclusive Estate where house sites are selling fast.

Twelve sites within the Estate are now sold and three new homes are expected to be complete by the end of the year.

The Estate is open daily for viewing when fine or when the blue OPEN flags are on the roadside. Or free phone 0800 827 823 to make an appointment.

Recession not hampering premium sales at Tapuae

18/02/2010 – Recession not hampering premium sales at Tapuae

Dear Friends of Tapuae,

Two of the most prestigious waterfront house sites within Taranaki’s exclusive coastal farming estate were sold over the weekend countering claims that the recession has slowed the property market.

Tapuae Country Estate’s river mouth site #2 – widely acclaimed by many as being THE best site within the property with close proximity to the beach and river – was sold to an Auckland woman who intends to build later this year.

International celebrity hairdresser Patrick Cameron has also returned to the province to purchase waterfront site #23 with views of the Sugar Loaf Islands and hopes to have his new home complete by December.

Both properties reached valuation prices and owners John and Mary are delighted to welcome the new residents into the farming Estate.

A total of 7 sites are now sold and a further 4 currently under contract leaving just 19 sites left which the Washer’s say they are not in any hurry to sell.

Despite comments that the recession may have hindered sales when the property opened for the first time in October 2008, the Washer’s say they have been inundated with interested people coming to view the property and have not encountered any problems selling the premium sites to both NZ’ers and foreigners.

Interested people are welcome to come and drive through the property at any time. The Estate is open daily throughout the summer from 10am – 5pm when fine. Or for further information on this unique property or to view 360 degree views online please visit www.tapuaecountryestate.co.nz
